Dr. Cowan’s Garden Heart Support Ashitaba Tea features Demeter-certified Ashitaba, biodynamically grown by a small family farm in the U.S. The Heart Support blend also includes organic hibiscus, organic hawthorne berries, organic hawthorne leaves, organic motherwort and organic spearmint. All of our Ashitaba tea blends are made with the finest biodynamic and organic ingredients. Each contains Ashitaba, a well known longevity herb along with specially chosen complementary herbs. The heart blend contains Hibiscus which tonifies the blood vessels, Hawthorne leaves and berries which support the metabolic activity of the heart tissue, Motherwort another herb that supports the metabolism of the heart, and spearmint which is added for flavor. The best use of this tea is to drink it consistently 1-2 cups per day for the long term.

Dr. Cowan’s Garden Liver Support Ashitaba Tea features Demeter-certified Ashitaba, biodynamically grown by a small family farm in the U.S. The Liver Support blend also includes organic green rooibos tea and organic milk thistle. Quantity: 20 tea bags.

The chalcones in Ashitaba have their own detoxifying properties but this is accentuated when combined with the well known liver support properties of green Rooibos tea and milk thistle.  In particular, milk thistle supports the first phase of detoxification in which the liver makes the toxins soluble so they can be excreted through the bile. Milk thistle is potent enough to be used in European clinics in cases of acute poisonings. Our liver support tea is best used in conjunction with castor oil packs over the liver to support healthy elimination through the bowels. The suggested use is 1-2 cups per day for a week or so to aid in detoxification.

Our metabolic support formula combines the well documented improvement in metabolism through the burning of the ketone like chalcones in Ashitaba, with herbs that also support healthy tissue metabolism. Cinnamon is widely used to help with carbohydrate metabolism, burdock helps the liver deal with metabolic toxins, and turmeric helps just about everything. A powerful hair serum treatment-in-a-bar that can be used as hair serum, frizz fighter, or hair mask. Boosts hair hydration, controls frizz and flyaways, repairs bonds, seals split ends, and maximizes smoothness and shin.

To use as leave-in treatment: Release serum by massaging bar between clean, DRY hands. Massage small amount from hands into damp, towel-dried hair or pat a tiny amount onto flyaways when hair is dry, focusing on mids and ends. Apply very sparingly to avoid stickiness. To use as hair oil mask treatment: Apply generously from hands onto mids and ends of dry hair; comb through and leave for 10 to 15 minutes or overnight, then shampoo out. Store in a cool, dry place.

Expert tip: Use bar for a sleek look or slick back bun by using like you would a gel or wax, combing through, and styling as desired.
